How is everyone recovering from the Thanksgiving weekend? After a fun-filled weekend with friends, family, and lots and lots of food, I was ready to stock my kitchen with new Grocery Store Finds.
Guys .. I did my first Facebook Live last week. I have no problem speaking in front of a large crowd, but it was such a different experience talking to a screen, with anyone really tuning in to view. If you watched, you might be able to tell I was a little nervous. I feel like this first one broke the ice and I’m ready to dive in and do more.
Would you be interested in chatting with me on Facebook Live discussing my Grocery Store Finds each month? Let me know! Comment in the comment section below!
Siete Grain Free Tortilla Chips:
Out of Veronica Garza’s, Co-Founder & President of Siete, own health needs adopted a grain free diet. Coming from a Mexican-American family, she wasn’t satisfied eating what used to be enjoyed on a flour tortilla, now on a lettuce leaf, decided to develop her own grain free tortillas. These grain free tortilla chips use cassava flour, which is a root vegetable and naturally gluten and grain free. Cassava contains significant amounts of calcium, phosphorus, manganese, iron and potassium, and a moderate amount of protein. These have my go-to tortilla chips for when I’m craving chips and guac.
Rebbl Protein Cold-Brew Coffee:
Whenever I hit the grocery store mid-morning, I always grab a Rebbl Protein Cold-Brew Coffee for a little pick me up. They say you should never go to the grocery store hungry.. truth. This is how this drink first ever ended up in my shopping cart. It is dairy free and uses coconut milk as the base of the cold brew. The protein source is pea protein and sunflower protein. It also includes “super-herbs” of maca, reishi, and ashwagandha.
Panera Bread at Home Turkey Chili with Beans:
I recently learned how extensive Panera at Home’s grocery store line is. Did you know they have all your favorite coffees, bread, salad dressing, and soup available at your local grocery store? They kindly sent me a few items to try. This turkey chili with beans was pleasantly surprised how delicious and filling this chili was. One serving packs in 11 grams of fiber and 22 grams of protein. I will definitely keep this in stock in my refrigerator. It was such an easy grab and go portable and portion controlled lunch.
Dream Greens Baby Watercress:
Last spring, I had the opportunity to visit AeroFarms where they grow Dream Greens, the world’s largest vertical farm. They grow delicious, nutritious leafy greens and herbs without sunlight and soil. Their crops get the perfect amount of moisture and nutrients misted directly onto their roots in a completely controlled environment. They take indoor vertical farming to a new level of precision and productivity with minimal environmental impact. The location I visited was an old paintball facility in the heart of the city of Newark, NJ. It was amazing to see the rows and rows of the vertical garden flourishing in the heart of a big city. The baby watercress has become one of my favorites because it’s little hint of spice, similar to arugula.
Oatmega Bars:
I’m a sucker for bars, mainly because they are just so darn convenient sometimes. One of my clients actually introduced me to Oatmega bars. I’ve heard of them but never tried them. She was raving about the chocolate mint flavor she had that afternoon when I spotted this bar at the store, I, of course, had to try it! What’s different about these bars, is that they contain heart-healthy fish oil. I was a little hesitant to try them because I thought I was going to taste the fish oil with the chocolate mint flavor. Definitely not the case. I think they are the first bar on the market that adds fish oil to their bars.
