Supermarket RD’s Pick: Dr. Praeger’s California Veggie Burgers

Supermarket RD's Pick
I keep certain items in my freezer at all times. For instance, you will always find frozen vegetables in my freezer. Frozen vegetables are just as great as fresh vegetables, nutrition-wise. Frozen vegetables are “flash frozen” meaning they are picked/harvested at their peak of freshness and then frozen to lock in their nutrients. Frozen vegetables are great to use in a pinch, if you don’t have any fresh on hand, or if the vegetable you want is not really in season yet.
But, this freezer find today for Supermarket RD’s Pick isn’t frozen vegetables. It’s Dr. Praeger’s California Veggie Burgers.

There are so many different kinds of veggie burgers out there. Surprisingly some of these so called “Veggie Burgers” barely have any vegetables! Some can be found to use rice or other binders as most of their base with a little bit of vegetables and a ton of fillers.
What drew me to Dr. Praegers California Veggie Burgers is their ingredient list.

You can easily identify that there are plenty of vegetables in this veggie burger and real food ingredients. No fillers. No preservatives. No saturated fat.
I’ve tried other brands of veggie burgers with similar nutritional stats, but I prefer the flavor of these the best! These are great to keep in your freezer when you don’t feel like cooking or need a quick bite in a pinch. I enjoy mine on a whole wheat english muffin with a smear of hummus and sweet potato fries on the side!

What’s in your freezer right now?
